Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

DataDesk AU is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who We Are

DataDesk AU is an Australian data and digital services consultancy based in Melbourne, Victoria.

ABN: 46 885 719 313
Email: enquiries@datadesk.com.au
Location: Melbourne, VIC, Australia (remote delivery Australia-wide)

2. What Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it — primarily through our contact form. This may include:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (if you choose to provide it)
  • Your business name (if provided)
  • The content of your enquiry or message

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined by the Privacy Act) and do not collect payment information directly through this website.

3. How We Use Your Information

Personal information collected through our contact form is used solely to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Communicate with you about services you have requested or expressed interest in
  • Provide services you have engaged us to deliver

If you provide a phone number, you consent to us contacting you about your enquiry — including via an automated AI voice assistant that may call to help schedule a meeting. You will be told at the start of the call that you are speaking with an AI assistant. The call may be recorded and/or transcribed, and a transcript or summary may be retained, so that we can arrange and prepare for your appointment and improve the quality of our service. If you would prefer not to be contacted this way, simply leave the phone field blank, or let us know.

We do not use your personal information for marketing without your explicit consent.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your information is stored securely using reputable cloud-based services. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

We retain personal information — including any enquiry details, call transcript or summary — only for as long as necessary to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, to provide services you have engaged us to deliver, or as required by law. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) — including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

5. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. To operate this website, respond to enquiries, and arrange appointments, we rely on a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf — including website hosting, workflow automation, and telephony/communications services (used to place and process calls where you have provided a phone number).

Because these providers operate globally, your information may be stored or processed on servers located overseas, including in the United States. By submitting an enquiry through this website, you consent to your information being handled in this way for the purpose of responding to you. We use only reputable providers and do not authorise them to use your information for their own purposes.

6. Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website uses Vercel Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymised data about how visitors use our site. This data does not identify individual visitors and is used solely to improve our website. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking purposes.

7. Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request corrections if that information is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. To make such a request, contact us at enquiries@datadesk.com.au.

8. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you may lodge a complaint by contacting us at enquiries@datadesk.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at datadesk.com.au/privacy-policy.
